Your privacy
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Throneroom Christian Church collects through this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Last updated: 12 October 2026
Throneroom Christian Church (“the Church,” “we,” “us”) respects your privacy. This website supports our public ministry and a private, staff-only management portal. We collect only the information we need to serve you and to run the ministry, and we do not sell it or share it for advertising.
Information we collect
We collect personal information only when you choose to give it to us, or when it is needed to keep the site secure.
- Contact messages. When you use our Contact form (or the pop-up contact button), we collect the name, phone number, optional Messenger handle, and message you provide, so we can reply.
- Giving confirmations. Giving is done by bank transfer directly with your bank — we never ask for and never receive your card, bank login, or account numbers on this site. When you tell us about a gift, we collect the purpose, amount, date, an optional bank reference number, and — only if you choose to provide it — your name. You may give anonymously.
- Account holders (staff and leaders). For the private management portal we hold your name, email address, role, and an electronic signature you register. Accounts are created by invitation only; there is no public sign-up.
- Documents and photos. Authorized staff may upload receipts, proofs, and related files inside the private portal. These are stored in private, access-controlled storage and are not publicly viewable.
- Security and technical data. To protect our forms from spam and abuse, we record a one-way hashed (not reversible) form of your IP address and your browser’s user-agent string when you submit a form. Standard server logs may briefly record request information.
How we use your information
- To respond to your messages and prayer or ministry requests.
- To record and, where a treasurer verifies it, account for gifts given to the Church.
- To operate the private management portal for authorized staff and leaders.
- To keep the site secure — preventing spam, fraud, and abuse of our forms.
Cookies and local storage
We use only strictly necessary cookies and browser storage. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not run third-party analytics or marketing trackers.
- Sign-in cookies keep authorized users logged in to the private portal. These are set only after you sign in.
- Functional local storage remembers small conveniences on your own device — for example, saving your progress on the Give page if you switch to your banking app, or remembering that you have dismissed an announcement pop-up. This never leaves your browser.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site and ministry — for example, our hosting and database provider (Supabase), our application host (Railway), and, where enabled, email delivery — and only to the extent needed to provide those services. Sermon videos are embedded from YouTube, which may set its own cookies when you play a video; we use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode where possible. We may disclose information if required by law.
Prayer meeting recordings
A church Administrator may record an online prayer meeting. Everyone in the meeting is told when recording starts and asked to agree; anyone who chooses not to be recorded is left out of the recording, and anyone may leave the meeting instead.
- Recordings are kept in the church’s Google Drive. To make an accurate transcript that shows who said what, each participant’s own microphone is also saved as a separate sound file in the church’s private storage, and deleted when the recording is deleted.
- Recordings are transcribed word for word using OpenAI, a service provider that processes the audio and text for us. An Administrator may also ask OpenAI for an English summary of a recording.
- Recordings are private to the church’s Administrators unless an Administrator turns on a link to share one. Anyone with that link can watch it, and the link can be turned off at any time.
How we protect it
Access to personal information is restricted by role. The private portal is protected by authentication and server-side authorization, financial records are append-only and audited, and uploaded documents live in private storage. No online system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to safeguard your information.
How long we keep it
We keep information for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected — for example, giving and financial records are retained for stewardship and accountability, while contact messages are kept only as long as useful for follow-up.
Your choices
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete information that we are not required to keep. Giving is always optional and may be done anonymously. To make a request, please reach us through our Contact page.
Children
This website is intended for a general audience and is not directed at collecting personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
